Revisions to Required Mileage for ANA Japan Domestic/International/ANA Partner Airline Flight Awards and ANA International Upgrade Awards

The required mileage for ANA Japan Domestic/International/ANA Partner Airline Flight Awards and ANA International Upgrade Awards is being revised.
Additionally, following the revisions to the required mileage, changes have been made to the Zone tiers of some routes for Partner Airline Flight Awards and to the required mileage chart tiers for ANA International Upgrade Awards.

Start Date

Flight Awards

The revised required mileage will apply for flight award tickets reserved/issued at 0:00 AM a.m. (JST) on Tuesday, December 1, 2026 and onward.

Upgrade Awards

The revised required mileage will apply to upgrade award applications made on or after December 1, 2026

About Changes to Zone Classifications

Palau and Saipan, which are currently classified as Zone 10, will change to Zone 3.

About Changes to Zone Classifications

The current required mileage chart with five classifications based on the distance of a single one-way segment (segment base mileage) will be changed to a mileage chart that uses the same zone classifications as flight awards.

Application Period of the Revised Required Mileage

Whether the pre- or post-revision required mileages will apply will depend on, for Flight Awards, the timing of new reservations/tickets, changes made after reservation, and waitlisting for available seats, while for Upgrade Awards this will depend on the application date. Please see below.

New reservations/tickets for ANA Japan Domestic/International/ANA Partner Airline Flight Awards until to November 30, 2026

The previous required mileage will apply.

New reservations/tickets for ANA Japan Domestic/International/ANA Partner Airline Flight Awards on or after December 1, 2026

The revised required mileage will apply.

Passengers with an ANA Japan Domestic/International/ANA Partner Airline Flight Awards ticket booked and issued by November 30, 2026 and changed to a new itinerary (with flights subject to revised required mileage) on or after December 1, 2026

When All Segments are Not Used

The required mileage will be recalculated using the revised required mileage, and any mileage difference will need to be paid for if the required mileage increases.

  • If you do not have the required number of miles, the change cannot be made.

When Some Segments Have Been Used

Changes to your itinerary can be made without changing the previous required mileage.

  • If a departure date change results in a change in the seasonality of your ticket, any difference of required mileage will need to be adjusted.
  • If you do not have the required number of miles, the change cannot be made.

Passengers with an ANA Japan Domestic/International/ANA Partner Airline Flight Awards ticket booked and issued by November 30, 2026 and refunded on or after December 1, 2026

When All Segments are Not Used

If cancellation mile charge is selected:

The number of miles deducted at the time of reservation/issue will be refunded to your account following the deduction of any cancellation mile charge.

If cancellation charge is selected:

The number of miles deducted at the time of reservation/issue will be refunded to your account.

  • * The charge is 3000 miles or JPY 3000 per person. (No cancellation mile charges or cancellation charges apply to infant passengers who do not require a seat.)
  • Regardless of whether you choose a cancellation mile charge or a cancellation charge, miles that have expired at the time of the refund cannot be refunded.
When Some Segments Have Been Used

Refunds are not available.

If you have made a new ANA international flight award reservation before November 30, 2026 and are on a round-trip or one-way waitlist, and then seats become available on or after December 1, 2026

Changes to your itinerary can be made without changing the previous required mileage.

  • If you do not have the required number of miles, the change cannot be made.

When the ANA International Upgrade Award application is made before November 30 , 2026

The previous required mileage will apply.

When the ANA International Upgrade Award application is made on or after December 1 , 2026

The revised required mileage will apply.

If you request a waitlist for an ANA International Flight Upgrade Award by Monday, November 30, 2026, and a seat becomes available on or after Tuesday, December 1, 2026

The previous required mileage will apply.

For customers holding a reserved ANA International Flight Upgrade Award by Monday, November 30, 2026, who request a refund on or after Tuesday, December 1, 2026

The number of miles deducted at the time of reservation will be refunded to your account.
